Government Jobs Anyone?

I came to know from a recent survey that government jobs and Politics were among the lowest of choices for the kids growing up in metropolitan Indian cities, and Military figures in for fantasaic reasons (that they get to use a gun aka Arnold Schwarzennegger)

Now this blog is not about the job preferences of the future...........but about why this state has come to WRT only govt offices.

Now govt offices have always known to be archaic in systems and very highly babu driven, hundred thousand forms, seals required from every VAO and tahsildar and DM and what not.

Now todays middle aged population (the non govt one) is huge in number and they have a systemic dislike for govt offices and officers for a few reasons, 1. they are a pain, 2 they are a pain and 3. they are unfair.

Even if iam eligible to get my license- it doesnt come till my legitimately earned money of 300 Rs passes illegitamately into his purse. Even if it comes it will be atleast 3 weeks later whereby i would have spent a equal amount of money travelling to and fro to the RTO.

i think many people promote baksheesh just out of necessity to save time, they spend the same amount of money either way, they might as well give the money now, earn good will, get their license, and go home happier unaware of the fact that they have contributed to india's growing black money.

Now what i would like to see is a government office - preferably an RTO some where in India where there are boards right from the gates to the Babu's badges, which proclaim that they dont accept baksheesh, and where there are no touts.

I'm not worried that this might actually happen, it has to some time eventually, but will our junta which is used to baksheesh paying easy life be able to deal with a honest babugiri?

Now i want to be the change agent in all this, but right now i'm in my own cocoon where i'm very comfortable sitting in my drawing room sipping coffee and lloking at my list of ruminations and blogging away to glory.

And hey when the changes happen eventually........... let me know imay take up some job in the government and not promote the ghoos culture in my office.......

Government jobs (honest government jobs) anyone

Women on top!

We have Hon Shri.Pratibha Patil heading the democracy, Indra Nooyi, heading pepsi, Sonia Gandhi controlling the political environment of india (so is Jayalalitha, Mamata banerjee, Uma bharti etc etc)

How many of these apart from the frugal example of pepsico's Nooyi have been able to succeed in the corporate world, which till date is a male bastion?

Even Infosys - where a Sudha Murty exist - has not been able to develop a unit to train women for heading corporate affairs, nor Wipro, nor any big indian multinational.

Yes the other industries like finance and healthcare have been more open to women like Swati Piramal, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and i forget that HSBC's lady.

Why not all corporates? With the country headed by a women is this all we can hope for?

Will not Pratibha patils nomination become another example of tokenism.

To top it all, we have the highest incidences of female infanticide.

Women on top! of what?

learnings from a cup of tea

No not another Zen story............... There now that you are comfortable.

I saw this interesting Chai Ad- as a glaring thought for the ad makers and the companies, i do not remember the brand, but the message in the ad was worth remembering.

A politician is asked about his educational and other qualifications for his applied capacity of running a nation. (the boy asks these questions as an interviewer would do over a cup of tea - damn which ad was that)

That gives me a thought how many of our politicians are actually qualified. Fine if this is an old rambling, i'm still learning mamu.

Jane Who?

I read some where today that Jane Austen wrote in Emma' " In spite of a few faults - I'm faultless"

i'm using this blog as a scrap book since for me net is far easily accessible than a pen and paper.

I'm feeling like repeating her words again, just to show i'm more accepting of my lazy ways just as every body is.

Thought for the day

Thoughts are Energy, and we think up our world
( in the sense the world is a set of perceptions- our perceptions)
So the more positive thoughts that are input to your mind -
your world becomes so much more beautiful - and so does others

Thats a nice way to start a gr8 day aint it?
